Hoopa Valley Child and Family Services

About Us

CFS operates under the Hoopa Valley Tribe’s Title 14 Child Protection/Family assistance code, Title 14C Elder and dependent Adult Protection Ordnances, and the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). We investigate reports of abuse/neglect cases within the boundaries of the Hoopa Indian Reservation, and our services include family reunification, family maintenance and voluntary cases.

If allegations rise to the level of intervention by CFS and/or Hoopa Tribal Court, CFS will refer families to the proper agencies to complete a reunification plan. These services could include alcohol and drug treatment, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, random drug testing and out of home placement. We also work closely with Humboldt County Child Welfare and other State agencies that Hoopa Tribal member families have been referred to or have been involved with.

Our main office phone number is (530) 625-4236.
